Installing a Memory Module in a Scout Console

To install a memory module:

  1. Ground yourself by using an antistatic wrist strap or other device.
  2. Power down the console and unplug it.
  3. Using a Philips screwdriver, remove the two cover screws at the rear of the console.
  4. Press the cover release button on top of the console. Using the handle at the rear of the cover, slide back the cover and lift it off.
  1. Remove the fan shroud by pushing out the release tabs and then lifting the shroud.
  2. Remove the existing memory module from the DIMM2 slot and install it in the DIMM1 slot.
  3. Install the new memory module in slot DIMM3.
  4. Be sure the old and new memory modules are installed in the same colored slots, respectively.

  5. Reinstall the fan shroud with the side labeled "Back" positioned toward the rear of the unit.
  6. Reinstall the cover and tighten the screws.
